Wedding ABC's

Since I haven't posted many pictures from our beautiful wedding I thought the best way to share that day with everyone is by doing The WEDDING ABC's.  It's going to be a long one.

Attending:
We had about 150 family and friends at our wedding.

Bridesmaids:
I had 1 Maid of Honor
My beautiful sister, Meagan
1 Matron of Honor
My amazing older sister, KK

And I had 2 bridesmaids, both who are the most amazing best friends I could ever ask for.
Best Friends since the 8th grade, I love you Katherine.
I love you Genny!!

Catering:
We just used the reception venue and what Shawn and I were able to grab a quick bite of was amazing! Once the first guest arrived the bar and food were served. We did a mashed potato martini bar, carving station, cheese and fruit display, and many different hot and cold h'orderves, which were amazing!

Our cakes were from a local bakery, Michelle's Patisserie in Austin and they were delicious!

Dress:
I had a gorgeous Priscilla of Boston wedding dress. I am so in love with my wedding dress, I wish I would be able to wear it all the time. It even had POCKETS.

Engagement:
Shawn proposed Christmas Day in 2008. He did such a fantastic job at surprising me, I had no idea!
My mother in law was so sweet to capture the proposal for us!
My beautiful ring...he did a great job!!

Flowers:
My favorite flowers are peonies and I knew I had to have them in our wedding. I used peonies, roses, hydrangea and ranunculus. My colors were sapphire blue and all shades of pink with accents of silver.

I chose to carry a gorgeous colored bouquet instead of the typical all white because I loved the idea of my bridesmaids carrying small white bouquets for the contrast.

My gorgeous bouquet

Groomsman:
Shawn had 4 groomsman and 1 junior groomsman. All have been his buddies for quite some time and the junior groomsman was my little brother.

Honeymoon:
We went to Negril, Jamaica for 8 days. It was so much fun and I'm so glad we chose to go there! I can't wait to take another paradise vacation with my husband.

Invitations:
We ordered our invitations from a store in Austin called Personally Yours. They were very simple and elegant and I love the way they turned out.

Priest:
Shawn has grown up in the same church since he was a little boy. When I moved to Arlington I became a member and immediately  knew I wanted Father Tom to officiate our wedding. He is such a wonderful and sweet man, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Keepsakes:
Instead of the typical ring bearer pillow, I opted to go with something a little more unique and found a gorgeous dish from Paloma's Nest

My sister also gave my toss and keep garter which was so sweet, and are now in a keepsake box for my future daughter one day.

My mom made a gorgeous and sentimental gift that has a lot of meaning from my childhood as well as a handkerchief to carry in my pocket.

She also gifted Shawn with a sweet handkerchief to remember his dad on our wedding day.

For all the guests, they got to indulge in a candy buffet at the reception and a super fun photo booth! BOTH I would highly recommend to any bride to be!

We also did a candy buffet at our reception for all the guests to enjoy. Let's just say everyone is still thanking us for letting their inner child come out that night and enjoying candy!

Ladies Night:
My girlfriends, Katherine and Genny were amazing in helping plan my bachelorette party and did a fantastic job! Genny found a hot pink hummer limo to drive us around all night and Katherine planned everything to a T. It was so much fun!!

Music:
For the ceremony we had a pianist play, he actually taught my sister and dad how to play the piano a few ago. We decided to go with traditional wedding music for our ceremony.

For the reception we had HUGE band called Reunion Band they are AMAZING! They actually played for my sisters wedding 4 years ago and I knew I had to have them for mine, they bring the party to the dance floor!

Newlyweds:
I want to consider us newlyweds for as long as I can, I love it! Last Thursday just happened to be our 2 month anniversary!

Old, New, Borrowed, Blue:
My something old was the sweet pair of socks my mom gave me from when I came home from the hospital with my birth date on one and another very special and important date on the other.

My something new was my gorgeous dress.

Trying on my wedding gown for the first time!

I also got something else new that day, a scar from the exhaust pipe from our beautiful vintage Jaguar. Something I will always be able to look down at my leg and remember our wedding day :)

My something borrowed was a gorgeous pink sapphire bracelet from a sweet and dear friend.

My something blue was a sweet blue heart that hung off my bouquet that was given to me many months before the wedding from my Maid of Honor Meagan.

Photography:
Our photographer was simply amazing! She did all of our shoots from engagement to day after session. Sometimes I wish I would have hired a videographer to capture our first dance and other special moments but the photos are worth a thousand words.

Reception:
Our reception was an indoor setting at a gorgeous building that has been in Austin since pre- Civil War. It was simply amazing and the perfect setting for our night to remember. It's called The Austin Club.

My amazing college roommates!

The mom's having a blast!

"Sounds like hell" Aggie war hymn

I love the both of you so much!

Shoes:
Badgley Mischka

Trash the Dress:
We didn't do a trash the dress, we did a Day After Session about 2 weeks after the actual wedding. It was SO much fun to put my wedding dress back on and take some silly pictures with my husband. I recommend that to any bride-to-be. You will love how different they are from the wedding day. I cherish them so much.

Unique:
We didn't have anything too unique, we decided not to see each other before the ceremony but we did decided to take pictures "together" before the ceremony. SO MUCH FUN!

Some of the groomsman thought it would be funny while Shawn waited for me to pretend to be me!

Vows:
Traditional Episcopal vows

Wedding Woes:
Some of the groomsman  were from out of town and decided it would make the most sense to pick up their tux from the store in Austin. Well, the DAY of the wedding they went to pick up the tux and Nick's tux was at the store in Arlington where Shawn picked his up! Luckily, a groomsman's parents were on their way to Austin and were about to pass the store so everyone had the same tux and everything was saved, thank goodness. Shawn was smart and didn't share that with  me until the next day, it was pretty funny the next day. Smart hubby.

Young Kids:
Hampton was a beautiful flower girl. I have known Hampton since the day her mom found out she was pregnant!
Trying her dress on!

My nephew, Trip was the ring bearer. I love this munchkin to pieces. Hampton and Trip were sooo stinkin cute together, they kept saying they were getting married all weekend.

From the rehearsal dinner

Zzzz:

We partied all night long and had a long couple of days leading up to the wedding that we were exhausted when we got back to our hotel room that night. It was definitely a blast and I wish I could have a wedding like that EVERY year!

Doing this makes me want to get married again, over and over again, of course to the same handsome hubby from the first time :)

xoxo
